Trying to Stitch

Well I'm still trying to find the time to stitch but it's not going terribly well at the moment. Very busy with Normannis and Uni stuff at the moment. Suddenly have a whole bunch of deadlines to write for and loads of prep to do for our big show. Doesn't help not living on campus. I also went on a trip to Carreg Cennen Castle near Llandeilo. One of my assignments features Llandeilo so it wasn't all pleasure. Very pretty and nice views of the snow up in the hills.

Last week I was working on my Cancer Chesterton. Managed to get a fair amount of confetti done on the pearls and shells. At the weekend I did some more work on my Little Partners Reunion, this one still just looks like blobs of brown to me, hopefully sometime it will start to look like a horse!

Confetti!

The last weeks worth of stitching has felt like really slow going. Lots of confetti and detail stitches, I haven't made a lot of progress on either of the pieces I have been working on. My weekday project was Cancer Chesterton. Only managed about 650 stitches in 5 days. Currently at 11.3% complete with lots more confetti to come the next few times I work on it. I'm back at Uni now and that coupled with work and training means I'm not likely to get much done on any stitching for the next few months. Charts like this are going to end up even more slow going than normal!

My weekend project was the 2013 HAED SAL QS Mystic Garden, did slightly better on that with 250 stitches in 2 days. I have managed to get up to 2.6% complete on this one. I'm really looking forward to working on something with some larger blocks of colour in them soon.

Cancer Chesterton December 2012

It's been a while since I updated this one but I've finished page 3 (which was confetti hell) and made a good start on page 4 which has some confetti heavy parts and some nice larger blocks of colour, I plan to work on this one regularly next year and hope to get a page finish. So far I have about 10% completed.

Whoops!

Oh dear, it appears that I have forgotten about my blog for quite a while now! In that time I have been busy. Got a new job serving coffee in some little kiosk in town. Spent lots of time following Love Amongst Ruin. Went up to Manchester to had out flyers during their Feeder support slot last week and off down to Portsmouth to do the same again tomorrow.

During the long time since my last update I have started several new projects, re-started several older projects and created a whole new rotation to stitch them in.

I have also made quite a bit of progress on my other projects. I have completed Burning Beauty, horrid back stitch and all.

I have also made a lot of progress on Cancer Chesterton - I have completed pages 1 and 2 and made a good start on page 3.
Have also made some progress on Vlad and most of my other HAED projects. Will post more pictures of them as I work on them.

Chesterton Again

After a couple of weeks break I'm back stitching Chesterton again.
This is about 3300 stitches and around 60 different colours out of 90 in total. So far I'm about 1.5% of the way through the chart in about 3 weeks - that's 0.5% per week so I'd better start stitching faster if I ever want to see it done!
I'm still waiting for some more floss to arrive so I can start kitting up for the 3 new starts I have planned for this month. I have a funny feeling I won't be seeing that floss now and I'll have to go out and buy a load more from somewhere. Don't think I will risk getting cheap floss from Japan again as it's been over a month since I ordered.

It's Been a Little While

It's been a while but as I've not had access to a good camera I didn't really see the point in posting updates.

This is the progress I have made on Chesterton - it's about 2 weeks worth of work and lots of colours.

Also made a new start on a DMC kit called Burning Beauty - will post a pic of that when there is more to see than just large amounts of black.

Haven't been doing as much stitching as I would like these last few weeks, never seem to have the time. I dread getting another job because then I will never get time to stitch. Good thing West Wales seems to have a job shortage right now!

A Finish and a New Start

Well I finally finished my Cat in Window. I'll post a completed pic once out decent camera get repaired/replaced.
Yesterday I started on a new piece - Cancer Chesterton by HAED from the artwork of Lesley Anne Ivory.
The photo to the left if what I managed to yesterday afternoon/evening. It's really slow work as there is a lot of confetti in the first little bit. I have used 16 colours already and only done 200 stitches or less. This is what he should look like if I ever get him finished. I'm already looking forward to the second page - lots of DMC 939 so I can start to work through it quite quickly.
