Bad Stitching Blogger

Ok so I've been really bad at both stitching and blogging about it for the last month or so. I blame re-playing Skyrim! That and various trips with Uni. I've been to Tenby, Aberystwyth (twice) Llandeilo and Strata Florida Abbey recently and they've all been very time consuming.

But I do have some pictures of stitching to share so here goes! The first is a page finish on my Mystic Stitch Cats, still lots of blue on this one and I think the blob in the corner is an ear.

Second is Eternal Promise, not much done on this one, the same with Blue Moon not a lot done here either. I have worked on some more but forgot to take photos before I put them away.  Hopefully I'll find some more time to stitch over the coming weeks  but I'm not holding my breath - Skyrim is just too addictive!

Pegasus and Blue Moon

Well I think the title nicely sums up what I've been stitching this last week. I've made some nice progress on the sky on Enchanting Pegasus, think this update photo shows two weeks worth of work, but it's really coming along quite well. I think the clouds in this look really nice. My other piece has been the 2012 HAED SAL Blue Moon. I have been looking at the progress others have been making on this and they have all got so much done! Got quite a lot done myself the last two days because I finally got to work on a non confetti bit.

Body! And Legs!

Two projects this week, both of which I did not update after the last time I worked on them so this is two months progress not one. I should do this more often as it makes it look like I've done loads! First up is Enchanting Pegasus. Not only have I now managed to start and complete the main body but the legs as well. Even made a small start on the background. Most of what is left to do on this now is all half cross stitch so might come along a bit quicker now.

Second project of the week is SK Blue Moon, the HAED SAL piece. Another row completed this week. Odd mix of larger blocks of colour (on the right in the moon) and insane amounts of confetti (on the far left, by her arm). Not sure I could stand to work on the detail of this one for more than a couple of days, driving me a bit crazy!

Another (Tiny) Finish!

Yes, I have managed another finish! I went to London in the middle of last week to see Marilyn Manson play at the Brixton Academy. When I go away I take little mini projects with me to stitch on the train or in my hotel in the evening. The project for this trip was a little Heritage kit of a bay horse ( I think it's just called Bay Horse or Bay Pony). I managed to get most of it done while I was away so just finished the last few stitches and the back stitch once I got home so I have another finish to add to the pile.

I also worked some more on my Eternal Promise, but there is not a lot to show on it due to my being in London. I managed to get 400 or so stitches in while I was at home which hardly looks like anything. Over the weekend I put some more work into my Blue Moon SAL piece. I've now done 12 days on it and have somewhere over 1600 stitches, I'm not sure exactly how many as I only count completed 10x10 blocks. It doesn't sound a lot but it's over 7% complete.  I think I only have 3 HAED WIPs that have a higher % complete. These small charts really do make you feel like you're making progress!

More Progress Than Normal

This week I have been back working on Eternal Promise. I've had some more time to stitch in the past week because of the Easter holidays. Managed to get nearly 1000 stitches into Eternal Promise, although it doesn't really look all that impressive on the fabric. 1/8 of the page should look a lot more than it actually does. Still really enjoying this one at the moment but looking at the lower portion of the page not sure how long that will last. Looks like lots and lots of confetti to come.  I am looking forward to finishing the border and getting onto the picture proper though, even if the amount I can get done in a week takes a massive hit.

I have also been back working on the SAL SK Blue Moon. I have the top row of 10x10 blocks done now and managed to put in about 350 stitches over the weekend. Seemed really hard going for most of the weekend, lots of confetti and the headdress parts plus lots of mistakes on my part and lots of knotted thread on that need to be re-done. Luckily at the end on Sunday I finally got onto some of the bigger patches of colour which made a nice break from all of the frustration of the rest of the weekend.  I have made some changes from the charted colours. I've swapped the 032 sparkly for white and the winter white for snow white, just so I don't have a girl with sparkly skin (insert own Twilight joke here) and hopefully keep the shading.

Pegasus Week 2

So I'm back to working on Enchanting Pegasus again. Been working on the wing/mane and don't think I've made as much progress as I could have. It's a Dimensions kit and uses a lot of blended colours which seem to take an age to sort out. Really liking the colours in this one, but I think I'll enjoy it more when I get onto the bigger blocks of colour in the body/background.

My other project has been the HAED BB SAL Blue Moon. Have put in about 150 stitches over the weekend which was very disappointing. On the plus side my uni assignment is due in in 10 days so once that is gone I hope to have a bit more time. Also this weekend I lost a big chunk of time having to take a cat to the vet. He had a big patch of flesh exposed on one back leg where all the skin had come off. Luckily the skin had just peeled back so the vet was able to stitch him back together so he's now shut in the utility room to recover. He's one of our barn cats so not impressed at being shut in.

3rd Week in a Row

So I've managed to work on two projects this week. The first is a Permin kit - I think it is called Summer Horse but there is no name on the actual kit packaging. I call it Sion because it looks like the little Welsh cob I used to own.

The other project has been the HEAD BB SAL piece Blue Moon. Managed to get around 300 stitches in Blue Moon over the weekend - doubt I'll be seeing anything like that for a while now that I have my next Essay Question for Uni.

The snow has now gone, think we must be the only part of the UK that didn't get all that snow over the weekend. All of the horses now look rather unimpressed that the snow has changed back into mud.
